PAIA (Promotion of Access to Information Act) gives you the right to request access to records held by an organisation. POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act) gives data subjects specific rights over their personal information, including access, correction, and deletion.
We aim to respond within 30 days as required by POPIA and PAIA. Complex requests may be extended by a further 30 days with written notice.
POPIA access requests are free. PAIA requests may attract a request fee and photocopy charges as set out in our PAIA Manual.
A suitable form of identification is required. If acting on behalf of another person, additional authorisation documents are needed.
You may email the Information Officer directly, but registering on this portal allows you to track your request status online.
You may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za or seek legal recourse through the courts.
